1. GETTING TO & FROM THE GROUND
Have a look at the 2 map pages below as they will help make sense of my instructions!
Coming from the north take junction 5 of the M40 at Stokenchurch and follow the A40 (left after the motorway) for about a mile then take the B482 (a right).
Follow this to Lane End and take the first left opposite a couple of small boutiques. This road goes down hill past a duck pond on the right before bearing sharp right and on & out into the countryside over the motorway.
Keep going and in about 2 miles you'll emerge from the trees to see Chiltern Paving on the left.At the bottom of the hill go left at the roundabout (below where it says Sands on the map) and upto the ground (half a mile further up).
2. PARKING
Click on the 2nd map picture above and you'll see I've highlighted an area in orange. This was a good place to park until this season as the local council have now put up "no parking" signs which cover Saturdays during match time. They're the sort of signs that open out so aren't always in force - but there has been talk of them unlocking the signs after people have parked there and then giving out tickets (not that I've seen this). So beware.
A safer bet is in any of the industrial areas highlighted in pink, the ones further away are free and as you get closer you'll pay £3 to £5 - but even these fill up early (by around 2pm).Park in the ones up towards the ground and unless you leave early you'll be trying to drive away through all the fans walking down the road. Finally, park at the ground and, again, unless you leave early you won't be allowed out until the pedestrians have all gone so allow 30 mins wait even before the queue starts to move.
